What: Dry brushing is a quick and easy detox tool with tons of benefits.  Dry brushing was one of the first detox tools I implemented in my life and I fell in love with it from the start.  Purchase a soft, firm, all-natural brush such as the one found here.  Pay attention to the steps below and you'll see why such a small investment yields substantial results.

How:  My dry brushing routine takes roughly 30 seconds and I complete it before I start my morning shower.  I stand in the bathtub or shower before I turn the water on and I follow the below regimen.  

  • Always brush in long, slow strokes towards the heart center

  • Start with the right ankle, and travel up the leg to the hip crease. Follow the brush stroke with your free hand to smooth the area that was just brushed. Continue this pattern around your leg until the brush has come in to contact with every inch of the skin.

  • Follow this on your left leg.

  • Then, take the same sort of motion and apply it to your right arm. Then, your left arm.

  • Brush from your belly button up to your heart.

  • If you can reach your back, brush from the lower back to the upper back

*Do not brush the chest area since the skin is more sensitive around these parts.

Don't forget to wash the bristles every once in a while, just with some warm water and some soap.  My dry brush never leaves my shower and I use it every day.  It is a quick and easy way to incorporate wellness every day!
